Fishing report for 6/3/2026

This is the fishing report for 6/3/2026. Weather is definitely gotten better since that horrible blow we had. Thinking its all good from here (fingers crossed).

Firstly starting with the rivers, there is plenty of action back there, lots of perch and striper up the rivers. Striper will push out of the rivers very soon on their run north. That being said for bass as its the normal things. Drifting eels, chunking bunker or clams. Lures around the sod banks and creek mouths throwing plastics and plugs. Perch are in the deeper water using bloodworms.

Back bay catch is getting better especially with clean water. Bass are few and far between during the day. Its been mostly fluke, bluefish & sand sharks. Fluke are mainly on gulp (brighter the better), minnows, mackerel & squid. Keeper fluke seem to be in the deeper waters in the bay with lots of shorts in the shallows. Bluefish have been on plastics plugs bunker and mackerel. The bass are mainly only at night around the bridges and piers mainly on plastics and plugs. Inlets have kind of been the same. Bass and blues on lures, sand sharks on just about any bait you throw. Weakfish reports have dropped off but most the people that catch them don't talk about them. Hearing more sheepshead around the piers every day as well.

Ocean side we will start with the surf. North end of the island is all lures for bass and blues same as above. Hearing of a few more kings around which is a great sign. Sand sharks are in the surf as well. Heard of a few brown sharks caught middle of the island. Seabass are DEEP, hundred plus feet is the best. There still is fish on the inshore reefs but a very slow pick. Ling are still pretty good mixed in with the seabass.

Thanks as always to Liam, he took his kayak out and reported some good catches in a short period of time.
