Fishing report for 05/05/26

This post is the opening day fluke report for 05/05/26. 

Well Fluke season kicked off this past Monday, of course it has to be a Monday. Was unsure of how it would be with a chilly incoming tide. But was surprised pretty quickly with the flood of pictures coming in and all over the place. Multiple keepers and quite a few throw backs. On just about everything from squid, mackerel, minnows & gulp. Also heard a range of reports on how deep, shallow and deeper holes were all holding. Weather this week doesn't seem too bad so get out there for some great fluke action. 

Striper are still hot and heavy. Still up the river and around the piers with clams, bunker & bloods. Inlets are holding a ton of fish daytime or night. Daytime on soft plastics, Nighttime on plugs. Beachfront bass is heating up. Some bass and drum were caught this past week towards the middle of the island on bunker and clams Bluefish are around just haven't had too many people out fishing for them.
