Fishing report for 05/13/26

Here is the fishing report for 05/16/26. Not much of a change in the report. The black seabass season does kick off this Friday 05/18/26 with a 10 fish bag limit at 12.5 inches.

Back bay action has been pretty decent when fishable. Fluke have a little hot and cold. Some keepers and shorts being caught. Mostly on mackerel, squid and gulp but minnows have been doing very well. Bluefish have been kind of missing. Hear of a couple every days but water temp is still down so I think its just early. Striper really haven't made their push yet. Still lots of bass still heading in the rivers. Daytime in the bay and rivers is more clam and bunker. Night time around the bridges eels and plastics. Inlets have been a little more consistent with bass on lures. Plugs and plastics have been catching. Brighter during the day and darker at night. Sandsharks are currently flooding our bays for their spawn so just be warned if you fish bait....you will probably catch big sandsharks. Weakfish have a new rumor partner as ive heard some whispers of sheepshead already in the bays.

Surfside has been pretty good. Sandsharks out there heavily as well but have gotten good reports of bass action. Lure action near the inlet with plugs and bigger swimshads has been pretty active. Soft plastics and small poppers are the ticket around the jetties. Everywhere else on the beach its more clam and bunker. Gotten multiple reports of good drum action as well. Started getting a few kingfish as well on bloodworms so fingers crossed they show up in mass amount.
