Fishing report for 04/20/2026

Here is your fishing report for 04/20/26. We have quite a few good things to report in this so lets get this underway.

Tog are beginning to push in quite a bit. They are making their presence known around the bridges and piers. It is still a little early so more of the bite is on "softer baits" such as shrimp, sandfleas & clam. The green crab bite will really heat up over the next week. Have heard of quite a few keepers but also a lot of throwbacks.

River reports are still pretty hot and heavy, as long as you can get through the bunker and herring. There is an immense amount of bait up there which can make it pretty difficult to catch anything. You find clear water you find fish. Perch are still hitting shrimp and bloods. Bass are hitting more clam and bunker, Soft plastics in the creeks.

Bass are beginning to become really active in the bays. That being said migratory bass are also starting to push in the inlets. Bridges and piers especially at night are producing more fish on plastics. Inlets are also producing on plastics but during the day. This past weekend kind of blew up all around us with big fish especially on clam. Problem is not many people have hit our surf, but the fish are there. Also been hearing and seeing reports of decent black drum action on clam in the surf.

Thanks to Joe and Frank for bringing in a bucket of tog to weigh!
