Fishing report for 03/27/23

Warmer temps are upon us! Which means water temps are on the rise. As of right now we are between 53 degrees on the outgoing and 48 degrees on the incoming which honestly is right in that "sweet spot". Warm rain really  benefits us with jumping the water temp up fast this time of year.

So first off on this report we have to cover river fishing. Everything we are hearing river fishing is still hot and heavy. Perch have been consistent on bloods and shrimp. Lots of size in these fish too not your normal pesky bait stealers. Middle river by far has been the best for perch. Tuckahoe and great egg haven't been far behind in the perch action.

Striper have become much more prevalent over the last two weeks. They are pushing out of the rivers with the warmer water temps. That also means they are becoming much more active. River wise still constant with bloods and clams. Becoming much more active on plastics during the day as well especially fishing creeks on an outgoing tide. Hearing lots of schoolie sized fish with quite a decent amount of keepers. Got a couple reports of fish over the 50 inch mark as well. They are pushing towards the bridges at night with lots of action on soft plastic. Our cover pictures for this report is from one of our former employees Thomas H. He has been having incredible action at night around the bridges on bigger top-water plugs, with his average fish being over 30 inches. Fish are becoming more active by the day so get out and enjoy this beautiful weather!
