Fishing report for 03/10/23

Spring has sprung! After one of the most mild winters we have ever seen spring has come in like a lion. Of course with that we will start seeing wind and winter weather now but beggar's cant be choosers.

White perch is still absolutely insane. All the rivers are incredible loaded with fish. You may have to hunt a little bit to find the schools but once you do its on. The best tide to fish for them is outgoing. Anchor up at the mouth of a smaller creek and get ready. Small "perch" minnows and grass shrimp are the guarantee in the colder water.

Striper are popping up in droves. River fishing for them is by far the best. Bloods and clams are your guarantee for instant success. Just remember that you need circle hooks for any bait fishing for striper. With the warm temps they are pushing out of the river early and becoming very active around the bridges and piers at night. Plastics are your ticket for action around the bridges and piers at night. Pink or white paddle tails are the best usually with a 1/2oz or 3/4oz depending on current. Normally this time of year you need to retrieve slower then slow. Not this year, with the warmer temps they are extremely active and aggressive so play with depths and retrieval speeds and get ready for your payoff.

With the upcoming weather for this weekend and mid week next week we are holding off on bloods and frozen clams. Once the weather breaks we will be fully stocked with bait for all of your success!
