Fishing report 12/03/2022

This is the fishing report as of 12/03/2022. We still have action! Unusual to say once we enter December. Thanksgiving weekend really seemed to set the tone for what is to come (hopefully).

Starting off with the surf report. To be honest the surf action is mostly a dead zone. Unless you are looking for spiny dogfish, if that's the case get out there and catch all you want! Any bait thrown in the surf seems to bring these toothy critters in. Jetties haven't been too good with the beach replenishments starting. Heard of a few keeper bass in the past week. Side note one of our regular customers came in the last week to tell a story of a lifetime in Ocean City. He was fishing towards the south end of the island and received quite the shock. About 50 yards down the beach he saw a large object come up on the sand. He decided to investigate and found a 50-60lb tuna that had beached itself chasing bait! He grabbed it by the tail and drug it back in the water and safely released it.

Back bay action seems to still be hot and heavy. Tog is still the absolute best ticket around. Tog are hot and heavy around every bridge and pier in the back. There is a few  bass around during the day on the piers but they are mainly still up the river. Frozen clam and bunker work great, also casting plugs and plastics at the outflowing creeks will keep you entertained with schoolies. Nighttime is by far the best time. Every bridge seems to be loaded with schoolie bass.

Ocean report actually is quite promising. Sunday 11/27/22 there was a run of migratory bass seemingly all in the 50 plus pound class. They could be caught basically throwing anything. Plugs, shads, jigs and on the troll. Few other days fish showed up again all within 3 miles. most in the mid 30 inch range hearing a few over 40 inches, mainly on the troll. Hearing spotty reports of Tog and seabass at the wrecks and reefs. We cant seem to get more then one good day of weather to fish at a time.
