Fishing Report 11/14/22

This is the fishing report for the week of 11/14/22. Lots to report this week which is unusual for this time of year. Carl Ray from Mount royal, NJ  came in for some advice and it paid off. He went to the mouth of the Great Egg River and caught this beautiful 44 inch bass. It was safely released.

Starting with the surf its been absolutely dead. There has been a couple schoolie bass around the jetties on self plastics but that's about it. Any bait thrown in the surf has produced nothing but spiny dogfish. Hopefully with the temp drops this will change soon.

Tog fishing in the back has absolutely been on fire to say the least. Piers have been doing the best by far, average keepers being anywhere from 17-22 inches with tons of throw backs. Normally this type of action doesn't exist this late so count the lucky stars that its here. Boats have been doing decent around the bridges as well. Should shape up to be a great opening day with the higher bag limit on the 16th.

Bass fishing in the bay hasn't been great during the day, again mainly spiny dogfish. Nighttime around the bridges with eels, spot or soft plastics now thats a different story. Hearing a lot of 30 plus inch fish topped by one of our costumers (Chris) catching a 46 inch bass last week. River action has by far been the best, with two 49 inch bass caught last week drifting eels that seems to be the weapon of choice. Spot are doing great as well on the drift, when you find the schools drop down with some plastics and let the fun begin.
