Bloodworms are soft‑bodied marine worms commonly used as highly effective saltwater fishing bait. They are reddish in color and release a strong scent when cut, which attracts a wide variety of fish. Bloodworms are especially popular for catching striped bass, perch, croaker, spot, and flounder, and can be fished whole or in pieces on bottom rigs or surf setups.
