Ballyhoo are slender, silvery baitfish commonly used in offshore saltwater fishing. They are best known as a top trolling bait for pelagic species such as sailfish, marlin, mahi‑mahi, tuna, and wahoo. Ballyhoo closely resemble natural forage, making them highly effective when rigged whole and trolled behind skirts or lures.
