Firstly we have to address the elephant in the room, which is tog. What a fall we are seeing this year with such incredible fishing. The sheer number of tog around is mind blowing and still going strong. Every pier seems to be holding more so on outgoing tides. Bridges have been stacked with them as well same tide. Fish have been pretty consistent around the jetties. Wreck and reef wise has been absolutely loaded as well with tog, seabass & porgy. Deeper the better with a major size difference compared to the shallower reefs and wrecks.
Now to the fish that everyone wants to know about, striper. Daytime action has still been hot up the river drifting eels & spot as well as chunking bunker. Haven't heard much during the day in the bay, that has been more evening and nighttime around the bridges and piers. Plastics have been the best by far with some very nice fish being pulled off 9th street piers. Jetties have been holding some bass on plastics but they have been moving pretty fast. Gotten quite a few pictures and reports from the beach (center of the island area) on chunked bunker. Downside if you get closer to the inlet with bunker it is completely overflowing with spiny dogfish. Hearing some fish being caught on the troll in legal waters. Not a ton but there has been some. Mostly umbrella rigs and mojos.
Shout out to Bob Salvucci for sending in this beautiful fish he got trolling out front of corson's inlet!
